Army Reserve Veteran Wins the Classic Corvette Dream Giveaway and He Can't Stop Smiling!

GRAVETTE, Ark. - ArkaSun -- The Classic Corvette Dream Giveaway ended on June 28, 2022. Edwin Ward, a Tennessee resident, is the grand-prize winner of a big-block LS6 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Also included in the grand-prize package was $42,000, which was applied toward the prize taxes.

Mr. Ward made a donation to enter the Classic Corvette Dream Giveaway on August 5, 2021, after reading that his donation would help veterans' and children's charities. "The [charity] that was most important to me was Honor Flight," he said. "I was a Field Radio mechanic in the Army Reserve and then ended up as Field Artillery officer."

On July 14, 2022, Mr. Ward received the congratulatory telephone call giving him the exciting news. "When I first got the call, I was giddy and was smiling constantly," he said. "After it sunk in that I had won, I was a little shaky and couldn't believe it was actually me who had won."

On the prize itself, he said, "I acquired a mega classic car that I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise!"
