Dream Giveaway Announces its First Canadian Winner — Ontarian Wins the 2021 GTO Dream Giveaway!

GRAVETTE, Ark. - ArkaSun -- The GTO Dream Giveaway, a nationwide drawing sponsored by New Beginning Children's Homes, ended on June 29, 2021. Anthony Durkac, an Ontario, Canada, resident, is the grand-prize winner of a national award-winning, concours-restored 1967 Pontiac GTO, plus $13,500 towards the prize taxes!

Mr. Durkac entered the GTO Dream Giveaway on July 29, 2020, and his donation would end up landing him the winning ticket. "The best part is the feeling of contributing to a worthy cause, and then, of course, comes the car," he said.

On July 15, 2021, Mr. Durkac received the congratulatory telephone call giving him the exciting news. "I entered the GTO Dream Giveaway a year ago so I had forgotten all about entering," he said. "When I got the call and learned I had won, I was stunned. I am still pinching myself. In 1964, John DeLorean designed this first [GTO] and it really was the true muscle car for the '60s with the hefty 389 V-8."

Mr. Durkac works as an underground miner and engineering mining technologist. He spends his free time playing guitar, working on his truck, fishing, and back-country skiing in the winter.

For the people who have yet to enter a Dream Giveaway, Mr. Durkac had this to say, "Regardless if you win a car or not, the feeling of helping others is so rewarding."
