Central Arkansas REALTOR urges community participation in NAR's Fair Housing Forward Live virtual event and spotlights a free updated fair housing resource available to the public.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - ArkaSun -- Walter Washington, Jr., MPA, a REALTOR with United Real Estate Central Arkansas, is urging real estate professionals and community members to join the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) for its upcoming virtual event, "Fair Housing Forward Live," on April 23, 2026. The event commemorates the 58th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act and will address homeownership disparities.
A civic leader with over 20 years of public service experience, including his role as Fiscal Officer for the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, Washington holds NAR's At Home With Diversity (AHWD) certification and sees Fair Housing Month as a critical time for reflection and action.
"The Fair Housing Act is more than just legislation; it's the bedrock of our commitment to building strong, inclusive communities," said Washington. "I urge fellow agents, community leaders, and anyone interested in a more equitable Central Arkansas to join me for this vital conversation."

The event will also honor NAR's 2026 Fair Housing Champions, recognizing REALTORS making a significant impact on advancing fair housing in their local communities.
Washington is also spotlighting NAR's number one best-selling brochure, "What Everyone Should Know About Equal Opportunity in Housing," newly updated for 2025 and available free through NAR's Right Tools, Right Now Program. The guide covers rights of home seekers, seller responsibilities, Fair Housing Act protections, and ethical standards for real estate professionals.
"This brochure empowers every person to understand their rights and responsibilities," Washington added. "I encourage our entire community to take advantage of it."
