GRAVETTE, Ark. - ArkaSun -- The GTO Dream Giveaway ended on June 13, 2024. Congratulations to Earl Wolford of Virginia, the grand-prize winner of a 1968 Pontiac GTO convertible! Also included in the grand-prize package was a $19,000 payout towards the federal prize tax on behalf of the winner.
Mr. Wolford made a donation on March 25, 2024 and that would end up landing him the winning ticket.
On June 27th, he received the congratulatory telephone call giving him the exciting news.
"When I first got the call, my first thought was: You got to be kidding me!" he said. "It was just hard to believe I had won. It felt great to help all the charities involved especially the children's charities. The Dream Giveaway team are great people and they made us feel right at home during the award ceremony."
Mr. Wolford, who is retired, served 24 years in the U.S. Navy. After that he worked for the Navy as a civilian doing deep ocean search and salvage. In his free time, he enjoys building things in his wood shop.
